Arsenal has set the ball rolling with a new contract in the works for Spanish manager Mikel Arteta. The Gunners want the boss to stay beyond 2025.

Signing Time?

Arsenal are currently in the process of proposing a new contract offer for Mikel Arteta to secure his presence at Emirates Stadium. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's contract is set to expire in June 2025, but the Spaniard is not in a rush to discuss a new deal.

In a recent interview, Arteta stated, "We will talk with the club about that at the end of the season." However, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are already working on a new contract proposal for Mikel Arteta.

The Italian journalist Romano stated on his X account: "Arsenal are already preparing their new deal proposal for Arteta." Since taking over as Arsenal's manager, Arteta has made significant improvements to the team's performance and morale.

Under his guidance, Arsenal currently sit in second place in the Premier League table this season with 86 points and are in contention for the title. If Manchester City were to lose to West Ham United in their last Premier League game that will come up on Sunday, May 19, Arsenal could potentially clinch the trophy.

Arteta's impact at the club has been undeniable, and Arsenal fans will be hoping that he extends his stay at the Emirates Stadium with a new contract. However, it seems that discussions about his future will have to wait until the end of the season.

Who Is Mikel Arteta?

Mikel Arteta is a former Spanish professional footballer who played as a midfielder for clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain, Rangers, Everton, and Arsenal, where he now works as a coach. The 42-year-old, who was born on the 26th of March, 1982, retired from playing in 2016 and began his coaching career at Manchester City under renowned manager Pep Guardiola. In December 2019, Mikel Arteta was appointed as the head coach of Arsenal, replacing Aston Villa boss Unai Emery.

Arteta's Achievements At Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has been credited with bringing a more organised and disciplined style of play to the London team, as well as improving their defensive play. Arteta won his first trophy as a manager when Arsenal defeated Chelsea in the FA Cup final in August 2020.

He has also led the team to success in the Community Shield and hopes to continue building Arsenal's success in domestic and European competitions. Arteta came close to winning the Premier League with Arsenal last season, only to be overtaken by Manchester City.

This season, Arsenal are once again in pursuit of City, trailing by just two points. To have a chance at the title, Arsenal will need City to lose or draw against West Ham United, while also securing a victory themselves when they play Everton. If everything falls into place, the trophy could be on its way to the Emirates Stadium.

Arteta's Salary And Net Worth At Arsenal

Arteta reportedly earns an annual salary of £8.3 million which equates approximately to £158,000 per week, making him one of the highest-paid managers in football.
