The 2022 World Cup Teams – Netherlands (Group A)
The national team of the Netherlands will participate in a World Cup finals for the eleventh time. However, after the 1934 World Cup in France and the 1938 World Cup in France, the “Oranjes” had to wait 36 years for their next participation. Louis van Gaal took over the Netherlands national team for the third time in July 2021. This marked the 70-year-old’s return to a coaching post five years after leaving Manchester United. In his first two eras as Bonds coach, van Gaal saw the team fail to qualify for the 2002 finals and finish third at the 2014 finals. Van Gaal has also been on the sidelines in Holland at Ajax Amsterdam and AZ Alkmaar, twice at Barcelona and at Bayern between 2009 and 2011.
