The 2022 World Cup in Qatar was supposed to start on Monday, November 21, but according to a FIFA decision on August 11, it will now start the day before. After a fitting opening ceremony, the first match of this 22nd World Cup will take place at 5:00 p.m. between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. The South Americans go into the match as slight favorites.

November 21: England and Holland get going

At the beginning of the week, two heavyweights will start the tournament. The Three Lions will make their first appearance on Monday at 2pm. England will face Iran, who are considered the clear underdogs. Three hours later, it gets serious for the Netherlands. Oranje should have the upper hand in the duel with Senegal. The third and final match of the day starts at 8pm. The outcome of the match between the USA and Wales is very difficult to predict.

November 22 with Argentina and France

There are no fewer than four clashes on the program for Tuesday. As of now, things get underway in the morning, when at 11:00 a.m. Argentina goes for a firmly scheduled must-win against Saudi Arabia. From 2:00 p.m., it’s Denmark, who start the World Cup as secret favorites after recent strong performances, against Tunisia. The 5:00 p.m. match between Mexico and Poland should be an open exchange of blows, and finally France will do the honors in its duel with Australia, another contender for the World Cup title.

November 23: Germany, Spain and Belgium

Wednesday starts again at 11am with Morocco against Croatia, where the croatian team looks forward to a victory. The DFB team is already in action from 2pm. Germany will take on Japan, and Spain will play Costa Rica immediately afterwards. The two group favorites should not show any weakness. The same goes for Belgium’s performance at 8pm against Costa Rica.

November 24 holds Portugal and Brazil in store

At 11am, Switzerland and Cameroon will battle it out for the first treble of the day, from 2pm it’s Uruguay against South Korea, and after that CR7 and Portugal will be in demand against Ghana. Last but not least, Brazil and Serbia are still in action with their first appearance at this World Cup. The kickoff is at 8pm.

November 25: Netherlands and Ecuador

As the week draws to a close, things get off to a rather leisurely start. The day begins with the match between Wales and Iran, followed by the clash between Qatar and Senegal. Things get more interesting at 5pm, when the Netherlands take on Ecuador. We should be in for an exciting clash from 8pm when the USA take on England.

November 26: France – Denmark and Argentina – Mexico

The weekend doesn’t exactly start with a highlight, as the match between Tunisia and Australia is scheduled for 11am. In the afternoon, it’s Poland versus Saudi Arabia from 2pm, before the first big banger of this World Cup awaits at 5pm. The match between France and Denmark promises to be a relatively hot one. The duel between Argentina and Mexico at 8pm should also be full of temperament.

November 27: Spain and Germany

The match between Japan and Costa Rica kicks off at 11am. After that, everyone expects Belgium to keep things tight in their clash with Morocco. Croatia will face Canada at 5 p.m., and at 8 p.m. the match between Spain and Germany will begin, which could determine who finishes first in Group E.

November 28: Things heat up in the evening with Portugal – Uruguay

The day’s opener an hour before noon with Cameroon against Serbia is unlikely to draw the crowds in front of the TV sets yet. The 2 p.m. duel between South Korea and Ghana is more or less the soup before the main course, which will be served from five with Brazil against Switzerland. The dessert should not be sweet, but could well be spicy, because from 9pm Portugal and Uruguay meet.

November 29 with Battle of Wales – England

Starting this Tuesday, the daily schedule looks different as the third group matches are scheduled. At 4pm there’s Netherlands vs Qatar as well as Ecuador vs Senegal, the second Group A game in a double-header. Group B will close with the kickoff of the games between Iran and the USA and, most importantly, the matchup between Wales and England.

November 30: Distant duels for first place?

First D, then C: At 4:00 p.m. it’s Tunisia – France and Australia – Denmark. Depending on the constellation, there could be no direct duel for group victory here, just as there will be from 8:00 p.m. when Saudi Arabia and Mexico and Poland and Argentina cross swords.

December 1: Croatia – Belgium

What will it be about at 4:00 p.m. in Canada versus Morocco? It feels like much less than the second Group F clash, Croatia – Belgium, which has the potential to be a big hit. At 8pm, Group E will then begin to draw a line under it when it’s Costa Rica – Germany and Japan – Spain.

December 2: Cameroon – Brazil

The end of the group stage will be heralded at four o’clock with Ghana against Uruguay and South Korea’s performance against Portugal in Group H. The final two point matches are between Serbia and Switzerland and Cameroon and Brazil. At the last World Cup in Russia, the Selecao clearly defeated the Indomitable Lions 4:1.
