Will Callum Hudson-Odoi play for Ghana? – World Cup News
With a month to go before the World Cup kicks off in Qatar, things are getting exciting for Ghana’s Black Stars. Who will play for Ghana? Can Otto Addo continue to improve his team?
Otto Addo is now an expert for Genealogy
In the last few months, Otto Addo has found a new passion besides his work as Ghana’s national coach and youth coach of Borussia Dortmund: genealogy. And so he has found many players whose parents, parents or grandparents are from Ghana. Bilbao’s star striker Inaki Williams, for example, was one of the new arrivals at the Black Stars.
Talented Callum Hudson-Odoi on the list
Now Callum Hudson-Odum is another prominent name on the provisional 55-man list submitted to Fifa by Ghana on Friday 21 October FA
For many years, Callum Hudson-Odum was considered a beacon of hope and talent for England. But at Chelsea, the attacking player could not assert himself. He currently plays on loan for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, who are also in the Champions League. Leverkusen since recently is coached by Spain’s 2010 World Cup winner, Xabi Alonso
Besides Hudson-Odoi, Jeffrey Schlupp (Crystal Palace) is also back in the line-up, as is Salia Abdul Samed from RC Lens.
Otto Addo soon back in Germany
Meanwhile, Otto Addo confirmed that he intends to retire after the World Cup. He will concentrate fully on his work at Dortmund. Much to the displeasure of his namesake Joe Addo. The former Ghana International sees little point in relying on a coach who will soon no longer be on board
But a look at the many names of players Otto Addo has been able to inspire for Ghana shows that in his short time as coach, he has set the course for the future of the Black Stars, no matter how the World Cup turns out.
